The Center for Applied Local Research is a non-profit organization founded in 1987. We are dedicated to the application of social sciences and related skills to improving the quality of human services at the local level. We serve public agencies and community organizations in urban, suburban, and rural areas throughout California.
C.A.L. Research offers a team of highly qualified specialists who:
- Conduct program evaluations;
- Write grant and contract applications;
- Conduct planning studies and needs assessments, and
- Provide technical and management support.
Over the past nineteen years, our staff and consultants have worked on behalf of local government agencies & community-based organizations in the fields of:
- Substance abuse prevention and treatment;
- Youth programs;
- Perinatal services;
- Family violence programs and women's shelters;
- Services addressing disabilities and chronic conditions;
- Housing and homeless shelters;
- HIV/AIDS services;
- Health care;
- Juvenile justice programs; and
